The Hubby woke up early today and decided to go with Selene and I to her bus stop [because he wanted breakfast -snorts-], I took some pictures on the way home of random things just because I’m in a picture taking mood and it rained last night so alot of things were fresh and new.

Every day that I walk home after taking Selene to her bus stop, I pass this community garden that’s nestled in between the upper part of the hill and the lower. Depending on the season, day, whatever other factors, the scenery changes. Right at the bottom of the steps/incline, there’s this buddha head and usually in one form or another you’ll find it decorated, or there will be offerings spread around it. Last week it was a flower crown, today when I passed by it had all this…

There’s this shop Downtown called Fireworks and they have some of the coolest modern and retro type things in there. I always enjoy walking in and taking my time to go through all the displays and trinkets and general everything the store entails.
Near the register, they have these little bags filled with miscellaneous metal charms. There’s bags for luck, charm, spirit and faith, zen, etc but the ones that always catch my eye when I’m in there are the charm bags filled with love.

I’m such a sucker for things like little random heart shaped trinkets D:

After one year of having one of the Angel Hunt crew in head only mode, I was finally able to complete her. Samara in teenaged form has been floating around since she first came home with no body, and while occasionally she’d borrow Saiyuri’s so that I could take pictures of her on something other than a bottle, the difference between the resins made it rather difficult, and in turn, these pictures didn’t happen very often.
But just into the New Year, and after taking on some human sized cosplay orders, I was able to place an order with Musedoll and then began the wait for the body to come. I didn’t expect it to happen soon, as many companies take at least a few weeks before they even start to cast and so I’d resolved myself to being patient. Less than two weeks after, I received a shipping notice and less than four days after that, the mailman came bearing gifts. I’ve ordered from alot of different doll companies, and I have to say that Musedoll by far packages the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Most companies send you a box, maybe some pillows and that’s that. Musedoll on the other hand, sent all this ->

Back in my Sailormoon obsessed days I wrote a fanfiction called “Sailor Wars” It basically detailed the lives of the Senshi’s moons during the time Sailormoon herself was gathering everyone together to fight Galaxia.
One of the characters was this Senshi of Makoto’s moon named Io [after the moon itself]. She had this dual thing going on in her design, a red and black yin yang type deal and I liked her alot as a character. I only wrote a few chapters of Sailor Wars before getting too wrapped up in my own Armor of God story to continue on with it, but during that time I was also still really big into the pen pal ring [yes, there was a ring] and I had this one penpal who painted and customized 1/6th models [this was back when I was into garage kits as well, pre-dollfie *gasp*].
Well he was one of the peeps getting my Ginga Televee fanzine [where Sailor Wars was running] and he wrote me one time, asking for a color character design sheet of Sailor Io. He wouldn’t tell me why, just said he wanted to see her in full color and detailed beyond a written description. So I drew some quick sketches of her up, colored them and sent them along with my next letter.
A few weeks later I received a package from him [which wasn't unusual in the pen pal ring, we all did alot of gift exchanging] opened the box up to find a custom 1/6th model of my Sailor Io character staring me in the face.
I was stunned O_O Seriously, it had to have been the coolest gift I’d ever received at that point and even though my pen pal days are long since past, and even though I’ve lost touch with him and most of the others, this model is something I’ll always treasure. There’s something super cool about seeing a character you’ve created all done up and official looking as if it’d been manufactured that way.
